Rivelin Woodland Skills provides a range of bush craft dynamics, basic survival skills and forest school activities for children aged 5 to 16 years.
We offer a variety of inspirational, outdoor experiences to young people of all backgrounds. They can be sure to learn valuable skills in a safe, fun and imaginative way. Our sessions are designed to develop a range of practical and social skills, building up their knowledge and enjoyment around nature.
We offer young people the chance to complete the DofE and volunteer on our sessions which helps with the transition from a school to work environment.
Rivelin Woodland Skills is led by Simon Denton. He is an outdoor instructor with a passion for nature and sharing his knowledge of it with others. Our ethos is to nurture, encourage and develop which in turn helps the mind focus and recharge in the natural environment.
Simon is emergency outdoor first aid trained, advanced DBS and child safe-guarding policy checked and fully insured.
All our sessions take place in an outdoor environment at our dedicated woodland skills site based below Crookes Community Farm situated just off Bole Hill Road, halfway between Rivelin Valley Cattery and Hagg Hill.
If you would like to book a session or have any other general enquiries, please get in touch with us.
